There's been a delay on 40L Crown Urns which we were expecting delivery for between Xmas and New Year. Crown have had to source a new contract manufacturer for the sight glasses. Will update when we know.
SS Brewtech Buckets and the 7 gal Chronical are back in stock.
Just unpacked a big order from you guys, wish I grabbed some Eureka while I was at it.. ah well, hindsight is 20/20.
Keen on one of dem urns though.
Urns have been delayed mate, looks like crown have extended their Christmas closure so we can't find out if they've dispatched and stock is banged up somewhere or whether they're sitting on a closed assembly line still.
Either your missus truely loves you and/or you'll be livin with that rig in the dog house. BTW we want pics when you pick it up and first brew.
Sorry for the OT
That's the best part; it was paid for using proceeds from two years of wheeling & dealing on Gumtree so she can't say I'm spending frivolously.. she's also a great wife of course. I will absolutely be creating a thread here about it when it's in action. </offtopic>
Following on from a bumpy couple of days while we sorted out the new website:
New website should now be functioning perfectly, there was some data loss and a few coding issues, but all appears to now be sorted.
The new site features wider options for freight and postage, but an option to have all freight done manually for most orders where we can probably get it to you cheaper through creative packaging.
Some new lines entered and still some to be loaded up. The new site has had the latest security features added and is a lot more mobile/tablet/pad friendly for those shopping on the go. There's also a list view so you can load up as many items as you like to view them.
If you experience any glitches or problems, please let us know via admin @ national home brew dot com dot au so we can sort it for you asap
Also: thanks and congratulations to the Red Barron for his win on the draw. A $100 voucher has been created and sent through by email.
With the recent workload situation with COVID as you could imagine, it’s been rather busy.
We’re taking a bunch of extra precautions in store and with goods handling to ensure that goods and working surfaces and equipment remain contamination free.
While it is a large shop and we are still doing over the counter transactions, things take a little longer than usual to process each customers needs due to decon time between each persons time at the counter and the shelves. if you strike a label that looks a little odd, it will be from a decon with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. Please bare with us and be patient. It’s for your own protection as well as for the protection of our team.
Stock levels are holding OK. Every day or so something will go out of stock and there can be a 2 day lag on some of these items. Every now and then, you may strike an item that runs out and in some very limited cases, may take longer for us to be able to source for you. We’ll always do our best.
Online orders: at the moment, despite some challenging demand, with 3 picking and packing we’re still getting MOST orders out same day if they’re placed early or overnight. James is pretty much on the mill from 07:30 through to late. We’ve noticed a lot choosing automatic shipping calcs which is fine, but if you strike anything that looks odd, then please feel free to select manual shipping calculations and we’ll get it there as cheaply and quickly as we can as always.
Some items coming out of different warehouses are going to start running low on stocks every now and then - here’s why - The warehouses quite rightly have added extra precautionary measures to reduce the number of staff working in their spaces and then doubled up shifts for picking packing and dispatching. They’re doing the best they can and we greatly appreciate their efforts. Transport system is also under a bit of stress but again, everyone’s doing their best. End of the day, this all filters down to us. To offset this, we’ve stocked heavily.
As this rapidly evolving situation progresses and escalates, we’ll adapt how we conduct business to try to keep things working as well as we can.
Very soon, we’ll likely move to pre-ordering and no touch outdoors pick ups from the sheds and the loading bays. We have safe, workable solutions. Online orders will likely continue as normal and we’ll be doing our best to get everything out as quickly as possible. All parcels will be marked as Authority to Leave. Couriers have extensive precautions in place and there is no need to have to sign or have close contact.
If any specific grains or hops have been listed as out of stock, we may have stock of it arriving later this week or early next week. Keep an eye out. We’ll get what we can get as early as we can.
EVENINGS for the helpline contacts: last nigt was a little crazy ~ our choice to run this type of service. Please understand that it does get busy at times. Especially now there’s so many coming back to brewing after a break of some years and a lot of new, tentative brewers who need a little help and guidance. We get through the messages, emails and chats as we can.
Thanks everyone for the orders, words and chats. It’s a mad time for everyone. We’ll continue on as best we can for as long as we can.
We’ve Also had our ATO approvals extended to include concessional spirits for hand sanitisers so we’re also going to be running stills continuously until we can get a bigger unit in to try to meet some of the local demand from medical centres and nursing homes to help them out. At this point in time, we aren’t able to supply this to the public and it is unlikely that we will have the capacity to do so any time soon. Right now, there’s folks on the front line of caring for the patients and vulnerable people that need it most and cannot get it.
So, what does the short term and long term future hold? We’re the same as everyone else. Both Karen and Myself have co-morbity factors to consider. Thus our need to take extra precautions, not only with handling the public in a busy environment, but handling goods. As lockdown looms, we will continue on and get done what needs doing providing our health remains good and we aren’t taking risks for us or customers. We are already offering no contact deliveries in our LOCAL area free of charge for those who are in precautionary enforced lockdown. This is being risk managed well. If we are able to, we’ll continue this throughout in limited capacity if it’s helping. we may end up having to implement more extensive courier services in time.
If for some reason this has to stop, then we’ll continue to work behind the scenes to try to help out with sanitisers etc at cost recovery.
For those who’ve been following the Cauldron Brewing project with interest, the tanks inner bodies were rolled early last week and things appear on track. We’re flying blind on the evolving situation for trades work, but we’ll work through it as and when we can. It’s all outside our control for the time being, so like everyone else, we’re just along for the ride.
Be good, be extra kind and be careful.
Don’t forget to take a little mental health timeout for yourselves every day and ffs be nice to those around you.
