Day 3 and the 4th bottle. Has started to lose a little carb and freshness.
2 empty bottles on the bench from yesterday. No matter how many times you drink from the bottle, it's just wrong.

I read a thing on brewsnews or something. Since refilling growlers is banned for covid related reasons the breweries are using the milk bottles as a low cost substitute to save customers the expense of a new glass growler every time. Let's hope some of these relaxed restrictions stick around after the current crisis! Reminds me of holidaying in NZ where bars and breweries would fill anything that would fit under a tap. Although I am a little surprised that the breweries can't run a growler return program at all - hopefully there will be some more thought put into how those with industrial dishwashers can receive and re-use after cleaning. Ill never forget being in NZ as a 18 year old and wondering why the fuck my mates dad had a 2 Ltr coke bottle full of beer in his fridge? Then a couple of days later I saw a barrel?, think it was a barrel?, in the drive thru bottle shop with a tap on it and somebody filling up a plastic container. 😃 Awesome. 🍻

Victor's Place (brewery and winery) at the corner of South and Victor Harbor roads in SA is open again for takeaway wine and beer. Best to call before you head in though... www.victorsplace.com.au/I just ordered a few cans of their Rye IPA which I quite like.

Future Mountain in Reservoir is doing Corny fills - 9L and 19L If you go smaller than 9L i think they said they will charge you the growler price. Send an email to: [email protected] If you want the pricing. if you do get the pricing, please don't post it on the forums. They would prefer that info stay off the webs.

Foragers is now doing 740ml PET bottle fills or up to 5l mini keg fills, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays between 2 and 5, appointments required as we are spacing people 15 mins apart.
We are going from keg to bottle/keg counter pressure fills, we think that's the best way of treating the beer for it to stay in the best condition.

Volcanic Brewing/Toowoomba Homebrewers are doing growler fills during shop trading hours (within licensed hours AKA 10AM+). Contact them first to confirm. Taproom still closed as the distancing requirements don't permit a viable number of patrons at this time.

While the Volcanic brewhouse is still located behind the brewshop they have relocated the taproom to a much bigger venue at 14 Duggan Street. Hours are Friday 12pm - late, Saturday 12pm -late and Sunday 12 - 5pm

Well lockdown #3 starts in Victoria tonight: the day my ginger beer finally launched commercially.
Ya gotta love the timing.

 No Relation Brewing Co*.
Only available on tap in Beechworth or at least it will be once we are out of lockdown. Hoping to broaden things next spring / summer. Expansion rate is severely limited because the first of the three fermentations is on Kefir grains and they grow slowly.
*My surname is Kelly and I spend a lot of time in the Old Beechworth Gaol which is where my workshop is located. We're not related.

Not related. Unlike this bloke who apparently is , the resemblance is very interesting.

I'm one of seven kids and all of us were nicknamed Ned at school: even the girls.
Oddly enough my younger brother did look a lot like that pic of Ned when he was around that age, much more than does the feller on the left (who is related*).
*To Ned, not us. See post above.

Tough times. Nice Guys Brewery have been open for 6 weeks after a disastrous 2020, so it was tough to close the doors. We were covid-full last night though so that is some small mercy. Great support from the local Richmond community. Hopefully we can open again Thursday and see some of you guys in there. I will make use of the down time to new a WC IPA. Cheers, grant
