Anything you want, as long as the wires are wide enough to support the load. This works well with HB bed depths (<500mm) as you want to limit the open area anyway: IMO most HB setups run off too fast and lose extraction.

LC what was the cost on the wedge wire I didn't see this. Very belated update on this project. I decided to go it alone and had a single 380mm wedgewire screen made for a prototype I am building*. I probably should have ordered 0.5mm slots but I went with 0.75mm, we will see how that works. The screen arrived today, here it is:  Getting it done as a one off was expensive, a bit over $300 delivered. If we did several at once that would roughly halve. *I dropped this idea two years ago but have taken it up again as I need to build a small kit for recipe development. I am going with 50litre brew length, hence the 380mm screen size.
